Wow, lots of changes this time around.

For a while, many of the plants were in bad shape. I just about lost my Frogbit, Stargrass, Pearlweed and Baby's Tears. There were a two main causes, both at the same time. First, Tall over-grown plants were blocking light from reaching the more light-demanding plants. Second, Lack of nitrates: I got lazy for a while, skipped KNO3 addition, and the plant growth clearly suffered. Frogbit stopped growing all together. Plants like the Baby's tears got lots of holes and brittle stems.

I resumed KNO3 addition, finally got the Nitrate level back to 5ppm, and what a difference! The plants have resumed their explosive growth, nice and thick and green. So much so, that the tank turned back into a jungle.

I finally found time to do a nice pruning, and I'm pretty happy with the look. There are still a few Crypts right up front on the left side. I'm trying to keep them happy and thriving until the local aquarium society auction. I'm sure I can get more for them there than at the LFS.
