Poem Number 1066
I
am sure I will have many regrets
And I am sure you are unsure

Commentary:
My face--
Wet
Before I ever knew
I was crying
Could this be possible?
More tears for a boy
Whose eyes
never
Sting hot
heavy
deep-
for me?
Oh yes, he has cried
Out of frustration
fear
Because it was
the right thing to do...
But never grieving
for me.
From this sidewalk
Where I shake
Writing thoughts of
The unrequited
Smoking his Pall Mall
I sit. And cry.
And through these cars
I can see the light.
Telling me gently...
...yes, I am lonely.
--but I am not alone.
