And it's drowning me
I am being suffocated
by you
By your criticisms
Your harsh words
Have cut me
like knives and axes
And it's hurting me
that you can listen
For so long
Yet never hear a word
I am sinking
As you use me
As life support
I am not a raft
I am far from being a life saver
I cannot save you
Because I cannot save myself

Locked within the drawn lines of my skull
Your smile consumes me
and I find myself starved
for an unconquered thought.
