Poem Number 1062
----To a teenager murderer----
you feel nothing for others
you are the ultimate form of selfishness
You are lost in the dark
you are without direction
Yet direction can be found
Commentary:
Serendipity, Love, an laughter,
Admist the sunset, and the sand,
truth or dare and lullabies,
drinking games, and holding hands.
We smile, but its a twisted lie,
glancing toward the empty space,
all of us feel the lacking,
and see the echo in your place.
Innocence is so fragile,
and we were blind and so naive,
now in our fear we deny the truth,
did you know the pain you'd leave?
So we fake the expected sparkle,
we ignore our playmates scars,
the cuts across our wrists are yours,
but the internal wounds are ours.

A very powerful, pull no punches poem. Hope you keep writing, Brisa.
You tell it how it is.
