Poem Number 296
Utterly
Commentary:
I. Prepare a kiss to puncture that smile
and waltz away a worry.
Twisting with a tongue tangle.
Lost in a lush languid lapse
from here to near.
Spin the cycle and let the maelstrom wash you
down.
II. See the straw dismiss gravity in your ice-less drink.
Wonder what Newton would proclaim.
III. Tie one more cherry stem
-an accomplished lover's knot-
certified in tantalizing
let his mind wander
(but keep it on a leash)
IV. Discuss nails and hair and any other dead growth
-Oh to be a Girl-
V. Realize how empty my mind felt
just as you asked what's on it.
Fill telephone space, too hollow for comfort.
VI. Contemplate corduroys blue
velvet with an attitude.
VII. Discovered that his taste has a certain
ambrosial distinction.
VIII. Tampered with the safety seal.
Is nothing sacred?
Crossed the line for official use only.
Removed my mattress label.
Recalled initiative. Tolerance plus one.
IX. Ah yes -my mind-
utterly filled to capacity.
