Poem Number 291
untitled
Commentary:
...and I cry
looking at a bed
we slept in,
knowing your pillow
is all I have left
...and I cry
because every song
is about us
and the radio has
betrayed me
as much as you.
...and I cry
as I pack up your things
staring angrily at a faded
tank top and a pair of
boxers.
...and I cry
because I didn't know
you had stopped loving me
didn't know you were so
unhappy
didn't know she was your
hero,
and you were no longer mine.
...and I cry
because I know I am not strong
enough
to face this world without you
and yet,
I wasted so much love
on a man
who cared only for
loan payments and rent
money.
...and.
I.
cry.

-------
I think that if you cut the whole poem up until "I wasted so much love..." it would say so much more.
I wasted so much love
on a man
who cared only for
loan payments
and rent money.
...and I cry
That would be beautiful poem, babe.
Love Ya,
Patrick
