Poem Number 281
A Disquieting Sort of Revelation

Commentary:
I cock my gun, loaded with my own hot air,
to frighten you with an empty threat.
You pound such bullets into dust.
I've been lost in this rhythm;
revolving in your Cartesian Orbit.
This apathy is grabbing me, my gravity.
Your hollow words fall heavy on my ears
and I ache with the weight.
Come and disenlighten me.
My vision so discolored that i've maendered
into gray confusion.
So worried that my shell will shut
before i climb inside, i retreat faster
than i can heal.
My house with picket fence
has shattered windows.
but, i am certain that i am a greater
threat to myself than any stone.
So, bombard me with the details
and impress upon me the enormity
of the selfish situation you find yourself
firmly planted in.
Think i fit this mold?
you'd prefer to believe in a reality
you've constructed.
So i'll steep my thoughts in a cauldron
of misconception,
and boil my dissent to a pleasant neutral,
it is either i do this or
be inhumanly human.
