Why did I even bother coming? I knew it would end in tears
I've experienced it all before, many crap discos, but you know
I would always want to be danced with, to feel part of the crowd
To feel real.
What was the point in even letting my mind make up stories, tales, paintings
Of what would happen, in an optimists view. Why don't they
Want me? I'll never be loved. I don't flirt. Is that why?
Yes, but I don't want to be a slag, easy, easy slag
I feel queasy. Its my stomach
Fat, fat, fat. I'm fat. Some days I'm not, some I am. Is that it?
Is that why? I'm not depressed. I'm ok looking. Am I the
only one? Everyone is so pretty, I'm not. I'm a geek.
Don't tell me, I already know. I've heard it all before.
Even in a crowd, I am alone.

Can you feel the darkness of the pain.... again and again and again.

just to say jenni that you probably are quite lovable. i don't see how someone as sensitive and honest as you couldn't be. I have a friend(really!) who could relate to what you're saying - infact he'd probably know a lot more about isolation and self-consciousness than you. He has been plagued by mental illness. But he has a girlfriend now and he's content. Worse situations have turned up turned up trumps so hang in - you never know what the future will bring.
p.s. i might sound trite but true words are rarely fine words. hoping for the best, darren.
