Poem Number 1766
SWEET
AND LOW
Commentary:
i was precariously perched up in my safe place for so long.
holding out, serveying the scenery below.
i just didn't think it was safe for my heart
with all those new things just around the corner.
i wasn't ready.
but you stood down there at the bottom,
your big green eyes gazing up at me,
reassuring me every day that you were there to catch me,
slowly luring me to you.
i finally began to see
the poetry and the music and the bright side of your world.
slowly, my toes found the edge, then my legs.
my eyes peeked over and met your sweet smiling eyes once again.
then i was convinced.
you assured my that when i jumped, we would both be so happy.
i trusted you so much and saw the goodness in your soul.
only when i finally threw myself willingly gracefully over the edge,
you let me fall flat on my face.

I feel you on this, girl. Beginning to trust and open up to someone only to have it kick you in the ass. Being mislead and getting "false advertisements" from a person you thought you knew. In other words, I really like this poem... ^_^ sweetdreamer5150@hotmail.com

love it
