Poem Number 158
Title : Ten Thousand Wishes
The reef is sharp, but beautiful
The fish holds hope large enough for a wish
Time immeasurable
Urges immemorial
3 seconds later
This poem begins AGAIN)))
the voice of fish
anew; shimmering fins
narrowly escaping the deception that lies in wait
But the fish is extremely hungry, fish is going to gain weight.
The fish sups gracefully on ten thousand wishes and its weight is lessened
As he wishes to share his goodness with all the other fishes around him.
Instead takes the hook...sizzles in the skillet of lamrim
and the poor fisherman devours his own wish!

Commentary:
Ten thousand wishes
Like fish on a reef -
Will they all come true,
If I just have enough belief ?

-------
fish are said to have no memory
but then ....why do they swim to me - for food
after every 24 hours??
