Poem Number 518
Always when it rains my mind thinks of mountains
The trip west over the mountains in the stagecoach
Where I excercised my rights o'er by the stone fountains
Telling my stories to the giddiness crowd reproach
..
And now in the rain I sit naked and lone in the gutter
Not a stallion in sight to give me a ride to the barn
How I got myself in this position is the question I mutter
Making a stand I bitch and throw all my yarn
..
With a great flush, a cloud dumps a wave on my brow
It is commemorated by a clap of broken glass thunder
And I commence to make off on the back of a cow
Cow pie deodorizer and a jug of beer i belt a blunder
..
To the mountains I ride away like a man that is super
Riding high in a roar I pretend I am a mountain trooper
