Poem Number 328
Why do you want to climb the mountain?
"Because it's there.", he said
"I want to stand where no one's ever stood."
And, when you've climbed them all?
He raised his head
"Then there's the moon.", he said
"and, after that, the stars."
Or if you'd rather, we could hit some bars.
and play geetars
Or steal lines from has-been movie stars,
to render glamor to faded fantasies
Or we could go on Interactive Poetry pages and screw up someones poem
Commentary:
I suppose, when you don't have brains enough to write your own poetry, the least you can do is add stupid lines to someone elses.
