Poem Number 331
War Drums

Commentary:
War drums
echo the dunes
harbingers
of impending doom
empires rise
and then they fall
it's recycled power
that rules them all
portent of freedom
mythology
slaves with lobotomies
analogy
who is captive?
who is free?
is it you?
is it me?
empires rise
and then they fall
it's recycled power
that rules them all

-------
nice, says something
true, even the greatest nation in the world has it coming back to them
-------
If history repeats itself (and it always has) the demise of power is inevitable. Even suns go supernova eventually. Thanks for your comment. *s.t.*
-------
i've always thought there should be an orginization called the people's power movement or something of that nature who's objective is to actually represent the peoples' vote, like another political party. I think something like that could take off over a couple of years with the assistance of celebrities promoting the party especially musicians who are politically motivated. Who knows what the future could bring?
-------
Some people might say you're being naive. I can tell that you're young and idealistic. Hold on to that. It's a good thing. Dreams are seeds of reality that can only take root in open minds. *s.t.*
