Poem Number 959
To an old school friend who has left to Australia
What a close friends, I couldn't even tell-ya
He was so fly and his name was Ty-Ty he was the coolest kid in school made all the other kids drool!

Commentary:
David is so brave and strong,
he's tanned and almost 6 feet long.
He's witty, laid back and never a hassle
but we miss him now he's near Newcastle.
I've known him now for may a year,
he always wears the grooviest gear.
I'll always remember if I'm ever in peril,
that shoes to wear have the label - Merrill.
He's great with animals and wee kids,
can juggle Pots with Teflon lids.
A better guy you just can't meet,
a visit from David is a special treat.
David's a master of culinary delights,
his tent side fryups are a wonderful sight.
Although eating heartily I looked with shock
dog hair scabs mixed in with Knorr cube stocks.
David's friends live far and wide,
and now he's moved to the other side,
he emails, writes and sends us piccys
he'll never scorn but takes the mickey.
A memory of David I'll always treasure,
while climbing a Ben just for the pleasure,
in squally rain and knee deep mud
sharing pea green soup in a wee tin mug.
Hiking with David on the West Highland Way,
the midges descended and they started to prey.
Biting us in the Trossachs is really sore
David ran off "I can't take it no more"
Across America we pushed and pedalled,
testing our fitness and the state of our metal.
At night we camped under glistening stars
after staggering out of the various bars.
I know now that you can surf and ski
and are weary of snow stained green with pee.
Your swimming talents are not so sure
so be careful when diving from the shore!
To sum up David he knows no bounds
whether up in the air or down on the ground.
He's cheerful, happy and my best friend
And this is where this poem ends.....
