Poem Number 1014
Snowflakes gently falling
Frost on the windowpane
I seem to hear the mountains
Calling to me once again
I know that I'd be happy
And I never more would roam
If I could only get back
To my old New Hampshire home.
But my damn truck is broken
And the horse had recently died
Blistered feet won't carry me
Nor will my strong lack of pride
Boy, life sure is crappy
Have fallen in a ditch and cracked my dome
No chance in Hell I'll get back
To my old New Hampshire home.
