Poem Number 1181
O drama queans of yesteryear
martini fits belittle mountains
be they far or be they near,
so much akin to mermaid fountains
fractured moves ride moonlight
and at night's end most wonder why
the days speed faster than stage fright
in a court of reason before they die
---
Powdered faces, crooked grins, faded lace
pitter-patting through distilled memory
balancing parasols, talking to the stars
icebergs moved to harbours of sun
for what's coming not what's gone
dancing gypsies blurred together
shaken up by breakdancers
one foot before the other can
find its home or freedom
This mask will serve from ten to twelve
as for these feet; i won't need em
because my travel is within you
and that is all one may really need
for when one is trapped alone in dark
a whispered song of love's hope and hope's love
can find your light at the end
revealing life's new path
