Poem Number 1158
Your hand, your smile, the sound of your sigh
are signatures, permanent and so talkative
in territories conquered with poetry and sword
Clothes reveal ties, scars, and abandonment
as they drop one, then another on wooden floor
I will always feel for you, that hunger keeps me alive.
as i nibble around the wounds, saving best for last,
i come to you tooth and tongue, and untellable longing.
At times it is too much, I fall a thousand miles deep
into thalassic, abyssal eyes, a shark in the shoal,
awaiting your rise.
...
I shouldn't, but I do. I really miss your touch
the piano has shrivelled into a waste paper basket
and that kiss keeps working through the evening
like a long play record, hissing, soothing, taking
the best saving me from the monsters of the sea
as I swim on the waves of your voice
plunging towards you, willingly mad
do you hear me?
through the musical breeze as a sparrow in heat
seeking seed for egg, seed to eat.
...
Dancing silly instead of imagining hidden stories
works to dissipate the silence of your absence.
