Poem Number 1152
I miss the sun.
I miss the rain,
water shushing in ditches,
down to the sea.
Winter clothing narrows the view
a fur tunnel, head held forward
and yet.
Limitless sky, black and aurora borealis
shaken ribbons of light
silence broken only by ravens barking
sled dogs a cappella
hockey in the street
under carbon lamps; goal!
********
I miss the crowds.
I miss the opulance
of movement, elevated conversations
jumping from rooftop to heaven
fear of dying
drowning in knowledge
with the impression
of having missed the boat
with the bronze bell
heard from shore
northward bound
Call me anything
because I'm deaf for good.
********
I miss the smiles
I miss the fragrance
of blooms invading space
bustle, hustle
and insane chorus lines
clothes feathered tight
around smoking tables
eyes glued to stage
with best to come later
A voice snakes towards my drink
like a curtain call
taking my hand
Without practice I burst
inyto
a neolithic fertility dance.
********
