Poem Number 1120
give me propane to brighten my day
as casual talk breaks into tears
only xylophones can imitate
a sorcerer's wildest wish
i simply couldn't be bad
funny you should say
save me too
this voice is
nothin'
good
yet
c
them
2 loves
sailboats on fire
flames swing both ways
peel off this heavy tattooed name
all my happiness was built on careless love
how about yours does yours fit into this box
lined with sun-cured cedar boards once or twice it soaked in life
laughter sinking into drums swirling into space later than the sun
italian music all over the table of a dingy nightclub down there
between my arms and the bark soon forever and ever
across the woven clouds where everyone dances
step to the left and muted sax skirts flying crazy
this new beat takes me and mixes me with you
unconsolable breath of tomorrow's martyrs
as hands point this way some day will stay
and that overblown love is younger still
hovering above a lost whisper
perfectly woven by fleshy lips
you punctuate the vision
with natural feelings
held in a clam
land slides
over me
too
u
can
take it
to the other
