Poem Number 1118
swollen moon
bitter wine
silvery sky
refraction
slurred melodies
each day exclaims
the beauty of a caterpillar
in a mountain retreat
trumpets are telling all
that light bathes in the lake
and weeds draw us in
cranes set us free
next to the highway
go
back and take a picture
I'll mind the horse
you are so beautiful
again
---------
watery sun
strong coffee
pregnant clouds
reflection
old songs
evening anticipates
streetlamps to loll under
neon cowboy boots
dive bars
under the benign eyes
of Elvis omnipresent in china
the guitar stores are closed
I'll probably never
go
back but of course
I forgot the camera
rely on brittle memory
again
______
tender eyes
resinous smoke
spacious void
deflection
archaic noise
midnight withdraws
its nibbled gold coins
from purses on the wall
beer sticks to my heel
behind doors
as I always
go
back to ensure
that fear feeds my dream
to not fall into it
again

did you strike a record deal? :-) -M

No, I think there are actually laws against me singing in public. I was working, at an auto parts convention at the Opryland hotel. Lots of fun. --k
