Poem Number 963
edgar allen poe at the sea shore tides
riding shoulders with the whale tomb times
granding above the waves on a coffin raft
drifting evermore corning a borrowers draft
letting out a tell-tale fart with golden glow
just to keep the soul afloat without an oar to row
the raven he passed and with him did concur
there was one black sea shore rock he was sure
black as the heart of that bitch anabel-lee
robbing from tell-tale hearts and robbing from thee
gold bugs and hop frogs filling up the britches
making waves straight up above beyond the staple stitches
better swing the poppy pendulum and make for the shore
dragging with it the chore of life and it's evermore
going to fill the mind with the red death of opiate dreams
sorrowful time-passings with silent, quiet, lonely dreams
dreams of fair eleonora and of amontillado wine casks
drinking my mind away and licking at my wounded cracks
I'll go meet poe on the shore at the edge of the sea
while hopefully combing the hair of the pink-haired girl she
who crashed on the rocks like anabel-lee once did
as she rode the clicking clock tock while bathing in the electronic grid
