Mercurial spinster
Sing down to me
elevate the spirit
and you can join for free
Meanwhile back at the ranch
the butter is now milk
and the dead can dance
so let's away, to France!
~ absinthe, perchance
... the spirit
a slide of corporal
a slip of tongue
outranked or outflanked
by the son of a gun
And if the devil comes a-calling
we'll send him on his way
And pray he does not go a falling
though upon his knees tis miracles callin
Instead of "and you can join for free"; "and I'll give you the key"
Conversational implacature
Circumstantial impudence
Neither is acceptable
Both are regrettable
casual interloping
cantilevered interpretation
both are engaging
neither is enraging
Underneath the staging
before the rearranging
found after the dance
with nary a nuance
Behind the wall
a drum beat pounds
Below the floor
lies untilled grounds
(lie even)
(on the level, or not)
hardwood hides yesterdays
and allow the present to slip away
Balancing on tiptoe
Tara, or was it Jenny, stretched her arms upwards
Take me away from here, "I do not want to stay"
upon shoulder of "pop", an ever easing hug
and now she laughs, "from here, i can touch the moon"
"and the moon touches back." Im in heaven

A time to sow old seeds in fresh ground
a time to bury the pain
A time to fertilize the mound
a time for growing rain
A time for new growth to abound

chapter and verse,
that you were defined
by my deconstruction.
When I was done,
had torn you line from line,
I gave you away.

Now you suprise me
on this shelf
so far above me.
Your spine is unbroken,
you are beautiful,
unmarked and whole.
I do not know this version.
---
I could reach out and take you.
Your price is obvious,
you are secondhand -
as am I.
We could start again,
you might still suprise me.
Maybe I was wrong.

ouch, nice deconstruction
'Tis all because of Rotten-Eye Joe,
I'm dead and buried a long time ago.
Died so young and I died so slow,
Died from feudin' with Rotten-Eye Joe.

Just thought that old song could use a little more menace and remorse in it. Have fun. --eritainAdd to commentary
