Poem Number 1161
The day was dying in the west
So I put it out of its misery with a bottle of tequlia
The sun slowly sank over the mountains crest
Bacon and beans cooking on my night fire
sitting on my blanket up against a rock
trying to remember what I was drinking not to remember
The haunting cry of a coyote fill the air
I felt the chill of night, and found that my fire was just an ember
The tequlia had made my mind go blank
I though about the bacon and beans in the pot
although I tried, the Tequlia will let me go nowhere I think
Tomorrow morning will be soon enough to eat, I need sleep
I can hardly stand as I pour water on myaching head
I remember what it was I was drinking to forget
And believe me right now I wish that I was dead
I'm Getting Married on Friday ,down in Denver town
