Poem Number 1142
AWAKENING

Commentary:
When I walked into the room
I saw you standing there
But I didn't see your face,
the lies,
the anger,
the hatred inside,
I saw innocence from behind.
deserving to be loved,
and held,
and given a chance,
to be happy again.
but i realized then
it's not with me.
it all came flooding over me
my life you made me live in fear
of that day i might be losing you
but that night?
that night
you never saw me
standing from behind
and i know you'll never understand
how i must feel right now
it's much easier
to love you and let go
and the fear of losing you
are gone in just one night
the night i saw you
standing there
innocence from behind.
