Poem Number 7548
In the land of shadows, where the exile lay,
a chilling wind surronded.
And the girl with the cherry colored eyes wandered here
hoping to escape her own darkness.
Her dark brown hair was stained with her own blood,
her limbs were shriveled and chewed upon.
Her father nearly killed her, yet she ran away.
and came to the land of shadows, where the exile lay.
The land was once prosperous, a virtual utopia
men were wealthy beyond all imagination, and had power
that even a monarch would envy.
Women were nothing but the fruit bearing trees,
and were killed if their crops were not worthy.
Hard to believe this darkness was once light.
The land of shadows, where the exile lay.
Many years passed, and a stranger came through
A female cleric wandered into the village, shattering their isolation
She had recently been banished from her village,
Due to her knowledge in magic,
she had been seen as a freak and as an abomination.
She had come there to help all the villagers in need
come to the land of shadows. the shadows the shadows.
The men of the village, so used to their power
ambushed the poor woman,
violated her, and humiliated her.
Once they had their fun, they left her to die
in the land of shadows, in the land the land.
Because of her torture, a child was born
and taken to another place for its safety.
As she lay dying, she uttered a curse
that no village would survive, with women on their knees.
As if her voice was power, a shadow swarmed over,
and killed everything, where the exile lay.
The girl who had run here, found it so strange
she had known this place forever,
and yet never came upon it.
This was her home, the place where she belonged.
Daughter of shadows, say a prayer.
