Poem Number 7526
TITLE: ...Recommends a Beverage

She is variously silly and grave
But known, she is, everywhere,
Mansion, Salon, & cave

her blood was the first
To be drunk and spill verse
Into the minds of all those
Legends and their
inspireddaughters,

But she herself is mild
-a barely steeped green tea

She seems a servant
to people like us
But I dare say we
don’t understand her

She seems not to have
a will of her own
But what use are we
to her?
