Poem Number 7481
Broken Blood
Commentary:
When I sat down to write this peice, about how I feel, this is the only title that made any sense at all.
Wake up in the morning
your running
once again inside my head.
I see you laying there
dreaming some kind of dream
about something
that has nothing to do with me.
What you do never does.
what you want never does.
what you believe never does.
You want.
You need.
You deny.
And expect me to just believe.
The places you've touched
are healing
or tring to
but you keep breaking them
watching the blood
saying nothing.
speaking nothing.
giving nothing.
And you expect me to believe.
The blood between us
is thin and watery now.
You tell me
what your sure wont't give you away.
You can't be honest.
Won't be honest.
Need your illusions.
And you expect me to believe
say nothing
except things
that make you feel good.
in the mean time
my blood is broken
where your concerned
as long as I will know you
you'll keep breaking it
and never believe
you've done anything wrong.
You just keep professing
some deep emotion
but you live something else
and just keep expecting me to believe.
-------
this is like looking in a mirror, and captures the longing to find a safe place to communicate, but it can only be a guess without time to speak freely - mind reading may be easier than risking, i don't want to believe that.
i see myself in your poem -both the accusing and the accused-
your words are well composed
-------
there may be so many people who feel the same
-------
I've been both as well. Fortunately through alot of bad stuff comming back at me, I work at not being the accused. It's too horrible to come face to face with being someone who is being the problem not to want to change.
-------
what if the person being addressed feels exactly like the writer?
-------
then there is a problem. A serious one, because if what they are showing each other by how they live, then maybe they should go their seperate ways and stop putting each other through so much bulshit.
-------
or there is a gift - with trust, for each to open
a chance to appreciate the shadow self and integrate a magnificent wholeness
transendance beyond any blood -
could be the ultimate high
to venture where what we believed was needed is no longer required
-------
From where I'm standing, there's only one thing to say - YOU NEED TO SORT YOUR LIFE OUT LOVE. Stop whingeing and take some positive steps to sort yourself out. Moaning on here isn't going to help is it? Uncle Claw, Whitehall.
-------
Uncle Claw, I'd say this was much better therapy than seeing a counsellor: well, much cheaper anyway.
Ped Ant
-------
sucking blood to save your self from anemia
how fucking noble can that be? - the pun works, but wasn't intended
-------
and it is always you i think of
-------
I never understood why people tell each other to get councilling. Don't you have to pay for that sort of thing in the US anyways? Is it any small wonder why thios country has such a vast collection of poets? And what's more! I say that we should celibrate our sick twisted deviancies! YES!~ Celebrate your short comings with words of beauty and power. Screw the shrink! Spank the doctor! AAAAAAAAA
Excuse me a moment...I digress. Anyways, like I was saying...I never really understood why people say I should get a shrink when I am such a great poet. James
-------
What sort of a narrow minded, introverted, arrogant comment is this "Don't you have to pay for that sort of thing in the US anyways?" - WHAT THE HELL MAKES YOU THINK THIS SITE IS ONLY USED BY US CITIZENS??? Typical bloody americans - nothing exists outside the good ole USofA. God bless us all, God bless America. Fucking hell - it makes me feel sick. BR.
-------
Well, the point is...if people want help they ask/and or pay for it.
What can I say?
If you feel sick I hope you have coverage. lolol James the ardent socialist.
-------
No pal, the point is - why do you think that this site is exclusive to the fucking USofA???
-------
The point is - everyone in this conversation probably needs counseling.
-------
it seems like when any person trys to be honest in a society that thrives on disception, the honest person MUST be crazy - now THAT'S what's insane...
-------
Honest about what?
-------
the pain of separation when faced with the fear of becoming one or choosing another
-------
This was barely here, and someone decited that it should no longer be seen. My query is this: why?
Does it disturb you? And if so why? It's not full of slams or romance, but observation of thoes who wish others harm, and do so from a distance.
So I ask again, why remove it so soon?
the author
-------
This is the author of the above poem, I would like to see it here for a couple of days if you please.
I have no objections to an author closeing their own poems, but someone else making that decision seems rather judgemental don't you think?
Maybe instead of picking and choosing what should stay up or be closed, why not leave that up to the person who wrote it in the first place?
simply out of respect for the author.
thank you
-------
James has been doing that, in an effort to make this site a "safe" hang-out for six year olds.
He actually said he is not going to tolerate content that wouldn't be suitable for his 6 year old nephew or son or whatever to read. He closed Symon's poem, citing he did it for the children.
I suppose he doesn't appreciate that Ann Cantelow herself has already posted a 'mature-content warning' on the front page (not just the 'rough' forums), thus giving us all a heads up that the IPP is NOT "Pooh-bear's Poetry Korner". The funny thing is that the little child will discover that he is not the IPP's intended audience long before james will.
-------
So this James person is offended because his six year old nephew or neice or son is comming here with him, let me see if I have this straight, when James goes on the internet, he brings his child or nephew with him and has them sit on his lap and lets the child read everything, see everything that James, who is suppose to be the adult, sees.
Interesting.
Well, my thought is this, if James is offended by what is written here, then maybe James should not be comming to this site. Or most everything else your going to find on the net.
Everything, and I do mean everything that a kid sees affects the parents or gardians, so if James' nephew or neice sees or hears or reads something that makes them ask questions, it makes him uncomfortable because he has to explain the over flow of expurlitives so that a mind that curious can take it in and make some sense of it.
I wonder what he tells the child when he's getting really upset and starts saying things that are extreemly hurtful or shows the child what an adult is suppose to act like by behaving like a child himself by throwing a fit because he has a problem with freedom of speech.
I wonder if he was one of the parents responsible for ruining sesame street.
These people did this really stupid thing. I don't know if you heard about it or not, but they got all up in arms over cookie monster being cookie monster, these people said that a monster who likes cookies sends a bad message to kids, so they made cookie monster become vegie monster.
Really brilliant move on these people's part.
The truth about thoes vegies you get in the supermarket is that the nutrional value of them is really poor. It's all thoes chemical sprays to keep bugs from eating the vegies that has distroyed the food value.
So now sesame street has come under the tyrany of parents worried about content crap.
Turn the t.v. off if it bugs you that much. Go outside and play if it bugs you that much.
The kids shouldn't be watching t.v. all the time anyway, or sitting in front of a computer so much.
Or having cell phones, I've seen kids in grade school with cell phones.
That is extreemly offensive to me because what kid at that age needs a cell phone, these are little kids here, like first grade kids.
The problem isn't with what's out there or on here, the problem is with the adult who needs to be interacting with the child and teaching them about cooking or building stuff or reading kids books to them, and when the kid is in bed, then the adult does adult stuff.
At least that's how I and millions of people before me have done when their kids were little.
So if James' son or nephew is being expoose to things that James finds offensive, then maybe James should take a look at his behavior before he starts playing judge for everyone else.
