Poem Number 7479
Alice

Commentary:
In some dark corner
of a long ago forgotten closet
a pair of red shoes lay sleeping.
The smell of life
still lingers
how ever faintly now.
The woman looks back
into the eyes
of a face that she knows is hers
a stanger that is more familar
than her tired skin.
Little girl lost
somewhere long past
dreams embeded in every stitch
every curve
of thoes red shoes.
She still hears her father's angry voice.
She stil sees the pain and fear in her mother's eyes.
She feels the life she wanted
wished for
dreamed of
never new
every time she sees the red shoes
picks them up
and holds them to her soul.
Strangers hands bleed her soul
ever time she holds them.
She loves and hates them
all at once.
Her red shoes.
Alice's red shoes.
Thoes damn red shoes.
-------
damn them shoes. i hate them!

Good writin'
