There Ain't No Snake In Eden

Commentary:
There ain't no snake in Eden
The Devil is on the run
Jesus came and he played the game
Against the Devil and won.
The stakes were high,
It was you and I,
They were playing for each sinner.
The game went 'round
And when the chips were down,
Jesus was the winner!
The Devil is on the run!
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden,
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden,
The Devil is on the run.
As I recall, we owed it all
For something that Adam done.
We couldn't pay the debt they say,
The bar was set too high.
But Jesus succeeded.
He had what was needed,
Sent down from God on high.
The Devil is on the run!
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden.
The Devil is on the run!

Poem Number 340
The Way of Life My Father Taught to Me
---BR

Commentary:
This is a bluegrass song:
When I first travelled on
From the place where I was born
And the way of life my father taught to me,
I left my home so dear
There were songs I had to hear
And a world outside my door
I had to see.
And, Oh, that road looked straight and narrow.
I was looking for a road more bold and free.
That's what I had to find
And, so I left behind
The way of life my father taught to me.
Many years have past
And I'm heading home at last
Back to the place I left so long ago.
To the misty country morn
And robins on the lawn
And my Father waiting there for me I know.
And, Oh, the road's been long and weary
And I'm longing for the way things used to be.
I've been too long away
So I'm heading home today
To the way of life my Father taught to me.

Poem Number 341
The Banks of the Wild Androscoggin
---BR

Add a line to poem number 341

Commentary:
Sometimes in my memory I go back again
To those tragic days of my youth,
When my truelove and I whiled the hours away
On the banks of the wild Androscoggin.
She was sweet as the flowers that bloomed round our feet
And pure as the waters of truth,
And we made a promise to marry someday
On the banks of the wild Androscoggin.
Oh. the wild Androscoggin rolls down to the sea
And those waters so cold bring a sad memory
Of the day when my love made that promise to me
On the banks of the wild Androscoggin.
Then, for some reason that I can't recall,
A quarrel drove us apart.
I packed my belongings and moved far away
From the banks of the wild Androscoggin.
She could forgive but she couldn't forget
For our quarrel had broken her heart.
She let those cruel waters sweep her awy
From the banks of the wild Androscoggin.
Oh, the wild Androscoggin still runs to the sea
And those waters so cold bring a sad memory
Of the day when my love made that promise to me
On the banks of the wild Androscoggin.

The Androscoggin river flows down between the cities of Lewiston and Auburn, Maine. This is the portion of the river I had in mind, when I wrote this song. Oopps some typos.
