Poem Number 1669
Old woman
alone this winter
cuts firewood
Commentary:
Well done Alice. Simple, concise, no attempt to be poetic, yet I find it very much so. You have focused on a scene that touched you and by showing it "as it is" have allowed us to be touched by it in our own ways. Effortless, effective, imho, thanks for posting. -thayne

The Old Japanese Master strikes again, this time in the person of Alice! --eritain

please don't put that one on me eritain.. nice haiku will suffice...
thank you though.. it still amazes me, those poems that I think aren't really good, people like....alice

re-read my comment and it sounded terse..not meant to be.. I am grateful for your comments eritain....:)..alice

No no no, this is definitely better than "nice haiku".
And isn't it weird, how the ones that aren't youre dolls somehow turn out to be everyone else's? I've had that happen several times in the solo salons ... in a way, it's eerie. --eritain, who just now realized how much he likes the word "eerie"

sorry if i'm over commenting, b-u-t Mr. Eritain is dead-on
this has exactly the sort of depth and brevity i'm finding
so difficult to achieve. good flow to boot. was so much
easier to say "Perfect poem" ;o) ····· robbynl
