Poem Number 153
Just a simple smile
But oh how it lifted me
When I was sinking.
Commentary:
MW, this poem is so joyfulling. Many memories flood: a strange woman who smiled at me on the street when I didn't think I was much of a child. But her smile told me that she thought I was wonderful. I never forgot. Then, my children and collegues at school; my family, the children and grands and greats, can each one do this for me. My husband's smile when I was flat lining with anaphylactic shock. So many times. Thank you for a "Simple Gift" of it in Haiku. Lida Jo P.S., the next two are great, too.
