Left on stage alone
The crow believes his talent
Shamed the songbirds off.

Many times have I listened to the crows in the tree tops bellowing as if they were the kings of they surveyed. Nice work.....m4r

PG - perfect! just like all the crows I know (and I know quite a few)..L..M

From your comments I gather that crows don't have to have us
stereotype them, they do it themselves. As an aside - on our walk
through the park this morning we noticed a large gathering of crows (much
more than normal). I commented to my walking partner that maybe they
were seeking revenge for the tongue in cheek haiku I had written; or,
were there to provide a well rehearsed encore. God help us if they feel
encouraged to take up choir work. PG

PG - Remember Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds'? Better wear a helment and carry a big stick!...LM

I thought of this thread today on my noontime hike. There were about a dozen crows
gathered atop an old white pine, and they were sharing some kind of group squawk.
I'm sure there's perfectly rational explanation why they do it (it must impart some
kind of survival advantage); but I found myself smiling at the uproar and imagining
why they might be carrying on: "Hey! That's *my* seed pod!" "Hey! You're sitting on my
branch!" "Hey! Where's Louie?" "Hey! There's a Human down there, staring at us!"...RAS

Crow: But he's *touching* me!
Other Crow: She *started* it! Tell her to get off my seat!
Crow: Did not! And anyway, he pulled my feathers!
Irate Mother Crow: That is just about enough from you two. Don't say I didn't warn you, I told you if you two didn't shut up I was going to have to pull over, and now here we are. Now, we are going to turn around *right* *this* *minute* if you two can't treat each other like avian beings -- and no more trips to the garbage dump for the rest of the month, do you understand me?

or, in the gentle words of my sainted father:

"If I have to stop this car, there's going to be TROUBLE back there!"
