Poem Number 1151
Headlight pools guide me
sunrise backs the clabbered clouds
Opening my day

Commentary:
Hey, Sis--what a beautiful description of a wet, fall morning. Only
"clabbered" clouds hold that promise of colder weather ahead.--Younger Sis
May you know love.

LJ there are pages of wonderful things occurring within the lines of this haiku and you've captured it all in 5-7-5. Excellente!!
(and please see response up top)-t

Your appreciation is heart warming. How kind! Thank you both. Lida Jo
-------
Kindness, be darned, Clabbered sent me to the dictionary. Did you know
in old English it was bonnyclabbered. - Curdled milk - what a great
descriptive word. Are you a school teacher, by any chance :} PG
-------
yes, beloved PG, and I love your smiley face. I love bonnyclabbered. What a neat
word, full of all kinds of possibilities. We should post it: bonnyclabbered sky;
bonnyclabbered heath, bonnyclabbered thoughts - oh my. And, by any chance, PG, have
you ALWAYS been a teacher's dream? : } Lida Jo
-------
ps. There's a great on-line dictionary at: http://www.m-w.com/dictionary.htm
it also has a quick link to a Roget's. It has saved me a lot of thumbing
through the volumes. PG
-------
LidaJo and PG:: I liked the meaning "soured"- little different than curdled-
It's easier to visualize "summer souring" and except for that one word
this haiku would show just any morning. (in my estimation, anyhow)
--GrandmaThing--May you know love. Still think it's a great haiku.
