Poem Number 907
Cobblestone lane
worn smooth by all who've walked here
historic foot steps

Commentary:
there are still places in boston where you can walk on the same streets as
the revolutionary war heros or the famine immigrants. always makes me pause....if those streets could talk......zendo

Heritage Trail, Boston Common, the old cemeteries...love those places. Thank God for the 'T' or
I'd never dare visit!

H.P. Lovecraft was born, raised, & died in Providence RI. Odd fellow, & a kindred spirit, I think.
In some ways he was a hack, in others the greatest English writer of the macabre. He was very
much in love with New England & Providence in particular. His medium was prose, but his description
of the old places was downright poetic. This poem & your comment remind me of him.....RAS
