QuichMarie: Was rereading this and thought you might enjoy looking
at mine ,on the same topic, in HC2, 157. Before I married him I
felt insignificant so I went to college , nearing 40, because I
wanted to be able to talk to him. Funny thing--he doesn't like to.

Thingy: In Spiritual things, I have been from one extreme to the other. Now
I am trying to strike a balance. THis is a snap shot of one of the extremes
I experienced with my husband and a cult called The Church of the First Born.
It was very religious, but I believe, God was not there. He is, however, in
my heart and guiding me into a balanced belief system, which I have not yet
settled down into. I have this stumbling block, you see, it is called "TRUST."

QuicheMarie::Sometimes that is tryly a battle. Take for example the
practice of "snake handling" and Paul , in the book of Acts.(?) He
was lighting a fire and a snake crawled up on his arm. He shook off
the snake and it did him no harm, and the people marveled. It is my
belief that God was telling us "When you need it, it's available to you."
Don't believe he meant for us to go looking for it.--that business
frightens me silly. --Thing--any balancing act is difficult to learn
but we do have a safety net if we stumble--forgiveness is ever ours
as children of the King. I enjoy being a "King's Kid".

I know that church, The Church of the First Born, a good friend of mines
son joined it while on a mission for the church he grew up in. Broke his
mothers heart. I have no use for any organized religion myself. I am
interested in that balance you are talking about though and how to find it.
I can also relate to the TRUST issue. I hope you find that balance and
happiness. Please let me know the way after you get there. Take care.

I hate when people are put in a box, and I hate when God is put in a box. Like you said earlier...God is a personal God, which means, he deals with us in his way, in his own time. I hate to think of all those who might be in a bad place now because they came across a church who refused them until they were "right with God" in as far as their narrow interpertation of that term goes. Quiche, I feel your pain and frustration at your past and am ever thankful to God that you are out of your box and are free to know God as he reveals himself to you personally. Mickey
