Red Begonias
A grey rain falls in great drops
Tears into red clay
Commentary:
That's the kinds from your eyes, not the verb btw. Anybody here grok Florography?
-------
Gracious do folks still grok? haven't read that story in years and years, though it was a staple in my library. Your meaning is vividly clear, a wonderful moment. Thank you
-------
okay.. once again I show my ignorance... what is grok(ing)? sounds like a really old word, so that excuses us down here... we are after all only 200yrs old :)).....alice
-------
alice...grok is a slang word meaning "understand"..."Florography" i have not heard before, though i tend to think it has to do with flowers, am i way off base? Author, i love the haiku, very vivid imagery. ~Q~
-------
Didn't know either words were real. Just thought they were both made up. Yet agin I have learned something new from these pages....m4r

do yourself a favor some rainy day and pick up a copy of Robert Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land", the source of the word grok.
A wonderful tale. grok means to understand something so thoroughly it becomes a part of you ·····robbynl
