Poem Number 1581
hoe straight garden line
four seeds planted on a mound
crooked-neck squashes
Commentary:
GT, I've been looking at your line for ages, coming up with absolutely nothing, now I see two perfect lines added.... thanks both, great collaboration......alice

Joe:: Thanks. Was thinking of planting squash but planted cantelopes instead.
Don't always grow well this far north but found some that are supposed to
grow huge, so maybe they'll get to regular size & sweet.--GrandmaThing--
May you know love.
Thanks, Alice.

straight row or crooked
matters not when plantings rot
dream of cantelope
^^

All that hard work gone to waste. Most of my lovely gladiolli bulbs rotted
, hardly any beans coming on, special corn about 10 inches high. Beet seeds
rotted.--Doesn't do to tell what you would like to have. Even the 4th of
July rose that had so many blossoms wilted before they were full from too
much water.--But then, perhaps next year is another growing year.--GT--May
youknow love.
-------
Must be so frustrating GT. As you said, all that hard work gone to waste. I send you
~
Silver rivers and golden sand
yellow wattle and rosewood bloom
Amber sunshine and amethyst skies
turning peacock blue after sunsets fall
Blue-gums like ivory pillars
and spreading lichen of
primrose and palest red
lyrebird's train and grey of the dove
colours and hues of this land I love.......alice, may you know much love GT
