Alice & Q::The book I quoted from, by "Harold G Henderson", is no longer
in print but I was able to order another one by him called "Haiku in English"
should be here any time. This poem surely does set up a deep emotional
reaction. I can see somebody fleeing, out of breath, approaching your
rotted bridge knowing that is the "only escape". Feel the fear way over here.--
