Poem Number 5093
aftermath - 2 Sep 2006
i lit a handful of firesticks
threw them real far
they all landed in your car

Commentary:
since she's gone
silence's tendrils
strangle me

her blouses
still share closet space
with my shirts

my t-shirts
still nestle beside
her brassiers

empty shoes
like my heart long for
her return

the razor
that once smoothed her legs
gathers dust

a long red hair
from her side of the bed
all i have left

how can i return
to the place i was before
without dying first?

thank you rain
you soak my face so none
can see me cry

------------------------(Sasha)
-------
death or breakup?
-------
a parting of ways
-------
I've been in the same place for nearly 4 years. The crying will grow less often, but the pain doesn't go away.
