Poem Number 4686
what kind of asshole
selectively closes the
poems he won't like?

Commentary:
one with a bad sphincter?
-------
Ah! --perhaps the person moderating IPP. I have been told that only 25
poems are left in place so the pages don't become too combersome for
folks to read through.--GrandmaThing-May you know love---and NO I am not Ann.
-------
Poems from the top go normally, but, a poem from the bottom disappeared...
-------
Or perhaps the author closed it?
-------
No, the author did not.
-------
An impatient one, certainly, but this *is* a public place, and every member of the public does have a say in what the salon looks like when day is done. People close things. If someone thinks a poem 'has been up long enough and looks like it is complete', nu . . . How else is he supposed to decide to close?
(Don't like it? There's plenty of webspace out there for your own site.)
--eritain, also not Ann, but always handy with his two cents' worth
-------
It's tantamount to censorship. Not that I will, but that argument carries that since I have a say in what the salon looks like when the day is done I can close every single poem you attempt to post, and you by your statement should be okay with that.
-------
If you did so, I'd think you were a hosehead; but I don't take IPP so seriously as to lose sleep over it. . . . Whatever is allowed by the software and the owner *will* happen sooner or later, closings included. We don't have to *like* it; but we do have to accept the fact. Having a 'close this poem' link is one of the realities of the system we've chosen to be part of.
If you feel you are being harassed by a persistent closer/stalker, let Ann know and she'll judge from the IP logs. If it's just an isolated incident -- well, who said IPP has to be everyone's guaranteed soapbox? --eritain
-------
It happens all the time in here.
Which is one of the reasons I, and others I know, stopped posting here.
We complained...nothing was done.
The is a snobbish hierarchy in here who use the forum to impose their own idea of moral-ism on everyone.
Frankly, I feel this sight has become a boring soap box for pseudo Christians to quote scriptures and decide what is worthy to post and what isn't.
-------
Do you have any idea how much time that would take? I have come in here,
after being gone for a while, thinking to comment on all works alike. I did
a few times and it took me about 4 hours to go through all of IPP in Haiku
--never mind the other sections. Besides, who cares if you believe in God as
Savior or no--that is between you and Him. If you don't like the comments
just don't read them again. But---I must admit that I really enjoy reading the
haiku section.--GrandmaThing--May you know love.
-------
It wouldn't take hours.
I'm talking about this section.
The rest of the salons are much more tolerant.
I don't believe in your god
or your scriptures.
No where else on this sight is religion shoved down your throat and used as an instrument of repression and judgement as it is here.
The hypocrisy of it all amazes me.
And as far as " if you don't like the comments don't read them again"
I used that same argument when I posted here..and my poems were closed and I was told it was inappropriate material.
so follow your own advice..and realize you've lost a lot of talented people through your blind faith and self righteousness
-------
Anyone who uses their religion as an excuse to repress and judge is not holding true to their religion.
-------
Anonymous one: (who doesn't care to at least leave an id) Just wanted you to
know that if I have lost any writers for Ann Cantelow, I apologize to her---
she is NOT me--lucky lady! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the commentaries
and the haiku of "all authors" (when they are haiku---I know, I know sometimes
even I don't count right---college grads forgive me?) I have had a swell time
reading and commenting on stuff by everywordmeansfuck and I know I came down
rather heavy on his use of that ID, but THAT'S HIM. But--I did apologize to him--he is a
very good writer when he isn't trying so hard to cover the fact. Well, enough rambling!
I am sorry you don't like my words such as "May you know love!" That is WHOIAM!--
GrandmaThing/Bea -May you know love! (Isn't that what you folks' song says?
"All We Need Is Love!"
-------
P.S. Just want to clear your mind on one fact. I-GrandmaThing --have NEVER
sent anyone's poems to "completed poems"--that is Ann Cantelow's job--it
is her site.
-------
They are born to live
Also the stupid Haiku's
To die in due time
