Poem Number 4142
Things hidden from me
The mysteries of a leaf
A womans true heart
Commentary:
hey, i told you earlier where the map to a woman's heart is....~Q~
-------
I can see it Q
By standing on my tiptoes
Outside the high fence
-------
the female heart
camouflaged beneath layers
of mystery
.
the female heart
terra incognita
to this old male
.
the female heart
perilous journey to
el dorado...................................RAS
-------
hmmmm....
this woman's heart
no mystery at all
just needing love.....~Q~
-------
Your familiar path
Seems tangled with jungle vines
I don't know that way....CM
-------
come with me
together we will
find the way...........~Q~
-------
LOL ~Q~ You'll bring out the green eyed monster out of her fort if you keep this up....CM
-------
All the girls giggle
"Why don't you write me poems?"
But she keeps quiet
~~~Chikuba Madman
-------
LOL CM, the green eyed monster is more than welcome to come out from hiding and join the dance.
~Q~
-------
Do you read outside of Haiku Qui Cher Marie? HCS2 # 823, 834, 840, 855, take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong. :)
-------
Doing Wrong? From what I read, it looks like you were doing everying right. The commentaries that came forth as a result of your writings were very favorable. I assumed that you were asking what you are doing wrong with your writing or perhaps with your own personal relationship. I hope I wasn't too presumptuous. I can't imagine any woman not responding favorably to what you have written, so again, it looks like you are doing everything right. I couldn't help but notice that most of these were written by "Poche,' so i assume you go by that penname as well as Chikuba Madman. It's an interesting game we play here, all going by different names and some going by more than others. Sometimes it becomes a "guess-who-i-am-now" game. There have been times when it has been easy for me to figure out that so and so is now going another name, because the writing and the comments are so similiar. But other times, I am as fooled as any other. For awhile, I went by several pennames, as many as 15 or 20. It was fun, in a way, changing my identity, writing freely without anyone knowing who I really was. It was even helpful to sort out the catagories of poetry by the penname. For instance, as nikki, I wrote of abuse issues and streetlife. As Lilith, I wrote from my new agey side. As Dorothy, I was the thoughtless romantic. As Kewanee, I wrote of love and of native american ways. As Quichemarie I was a mother, wrote of my children and of my life. As Yolanda, I could explore my religious side. But in the end, i wanted to be me. Just ~Q~. Lately, I have noticed some long-timers here at IPP going by different pen names, which can be fun and freeing, but when I was doing it a year or so ago, I felt I had to come clean. The people on IPP had become my friends both online and off and I didn't want to play games with them any more than I like mindgames being played with me. Because of past abuses, I do have issues with mind-twisting, I prefer straight shooters. LOL, also there was a rumor going around about me that I was MPD, which is totally untrue. So, I revealed a listing of my pennames and apologized to my IPP family for any confusion I had caused. While I can often figure out who is who, sometimes I wonder still. So, when I noticed you were CM and poche, I felt that this would be as good a time as ever to put the invitation out there for others if they feel like revealing what other names they go by. In another forum I have belonged to, we often give out "vitals," too. Not many here give their real name, their age, the state they live in, a little about their life, but I don't think it would be too inappropriate if we felt like sharing that information with one another. I have even given my email address on various occassions and have met some wonderful people from IPP in this way. Sorry for my digression. I simply wanted to give the invitation if anyone felt like sharing. Back to your question, CM, I do read outside of Haiku, in fact, on occassion, I have written in the other forums. You can do an author search under Quiche or Quichemarie if you want to read any of my longer poetry. I haven't posted much here compared to my notebooks full at home. I enjoyed what I have read of your writings, yet I am not sure what you are asking when you say "tell me what I'm doing wrong," so my answer remains, it looks like you are doing everything right. If there is more to your question, please fill me in. As I said, I prefer straight shooters, direct questions....~Quichemarie~ (Keasha, 37, Michigan, single mom, 3 daughters, email vifsecretary@yahoo.com) There, I went first!
wellll...not that anyone gives a care, but i'll unmask a bit.....RAS (Roy, 51, SW New Hampshire, DWM, physicist/engineer, 1 dau attending UMass Amherst... fond of toads & snakes, 1950s sci-fi movies, jazz... loathes spiders, green beans, "reality" television [an oxymoron if ever there were one!] )
-------
Well Quiche I think this is a great idea and I don't mind revealing who I am
I am Mike, 40, from Illinois. Also known as opto, mgm, and one of the sam's
who used to come by, not to be mistaken for the other sam. I have three children
am divorced and love all the time I spend here and the people who I have come
to love here. This has been very therapeutic for me over the years. I hope others
take the bait and tell us a bit about yourselves. My hats off to Quiche for being
brave enough to jump off first. It doesn't look so far down now that I saw her
do it. All the best to you my friend. I love you!!! Sorry RAS. It is purely
a love of a dear friend. I hope your not the jealouse type. LOL
-------
LOL, no problem, opto..............RAS
-------
Thanks Sweetie, although the only thing I learned was that you loate green-beans. I loathe the canned, overcooked, far-too over-boiled variety, but how can you not love a green bean straight from the garden? MMMMmmmm
Mike, it is so nice to see you here again! Don't worry, RAS knows all about our friendship and as you can see, he is fine with it. I love you, too. We've been through a lot together for the years and have always been there for each other. Thank you for being a true friend. I hope to read some poetry from your pen again soon, (why not join in on the Spamku?) ~Q~
i'm david. i once used df but other than that i'm just david 41 year old man in chicago. don't know what to tell you guys except i'm just a regular guy in a long term committed relationship who is trying his hand at haiku. i have an mba from northwestern and work in manufacturing. i am also involved in the improv community in chicago and a not for profit arts arganization in southwest michigan (where i am helping build a small theater with a pipe organ) as well as other volunteer work. i marvel at the ability many of you have to communicate succinctly. i have spent enough time on this site to appreciate this "unveiling". if any of you want to meet me live come to burningman this year. thanks everyone for sharing so much of yourselves. oh yeah, being jewish i'm not big on spam. it ain't kosher (grin).
-------
Ginny is cute as a button:) Always nice to put be able to put a face to the name. The only problem is that I'm not nearly as cute so I'll remain a man of mystery:) -Chikuba Madman
I hope everyone knows that was just a joke! I found it interesting how we have defined ourselves here. We tend to describe ourselves according to our careers/jobs, our families/children, our age, and then our interests. I realize that I didn't do much more than tell you my name, number of kids and email addy. So here goes....in order to pay the bills, I am a secretary, a church secretary no less, aka church lady. I also teach sign language, am a Reiki Master and a lay Homeopath/herbalist. Should I mention that I read palms and on occassion, stones? Nah, Ok, I won't. I am also currently studying Alternative Medicine and hope to someday hang a shingle. I already mentioned that I am a single mom of three daughters, ages 14, 11 and 7. My oldest daughter is an actress, comfortable with public speaking, and a writer. She has a very compassionate heart. My middle daughter is very gifted in the arts. She paints and draws remarkably well and has had her artwork shown in City Hall. She also writes awesome poetry. My little one is my baby with kidney disease, as many of you know and have wished her well often. (thanks). She is a cutie patutie and is very spirited (another way of saying hyper). She also writes poetry and enjoys Haiku especially. Oh, and when she grows up, she is going to be Queen, (but I don't have to bow to her because i am mom). So onward to my likes and dislikes and interests. I love my children and a certain physicist in New Hamphire, I love animals and nature and TREES and STONES (and the Rolling Stones), and I love to study art history, as well as history in general. I love music, all music, (except the techno-crap my eneighbors crank up at 3 a.m.). I tend towards vegetarianism, (so, no I don't eat Spam). By heritage, I am slightly over 1/4 Native American, (Choctaw and Cherokee), Norwegian, German and French. David, if my father were my mother and my father's father were his mother, I, too would be Jewish, otherwise it stopped at Great Grandmother. As far as Reality T.V. goes, I neither love it or loathe it, but I do have a theory that my life is, infact, Reality T.V. for the gods. Much like, "The Truman Show," I have wondered if the heavenly beings, or perhaps extraterrestrials are out there watching my life as a soap opera. Perhaps even the gods are manipulating events to see how i will react or if I can handle any more. Ok, enough delusions. I have found laughter one key to survival, and poetry another. I am finding that love is a very pleasant thing, as is friendship and I am thankful for each of you who I call friend, especially for RAS who has (for some strange reason) chosen to love me. ~Q~
-------
If RAS still loves you after you've blown his cover with those URLs, then it's true love, indeed. And oh, the sheep jokes that come to mind......bkay
-------
well, now that i've been outed, i must admit i'm feeling rather sheepish. You mutton think i would do such things, wool ewe still all respect me? It's shear torture thinking you might not............RAS
-------
but it's a good feeling coming clean, you know what they say about life on the lamb...........RAS
-------
...and ~Q~, sweetie, I'm still trying to figure out that "if my father were my mother and my great granduncle were my stepnephew's cousin-in-law" thing... maybe if I put it up on our CAD system..........RAS ;-)
It seems like I've been away from here a looooooong time... missed these pages and you guys heaps. Hospital stays and visits have interrupted my "normal" schedules a bit.. but sure am glad to be back. Alice here, last time I remember I was Jan, 44 and living in Western Aussie; THE most beautiful country in the world, btw..:)) I write what I see and feel. I am a potter (at least I try and form beautiful things out of lumps of wet clay) and rarely go outside without my trusty camera. Married with kids, whom I love with every part of my being, although I am now getting to a point in my life where I'm looking forward to spending more time exploring and challenging those things that have been just dreams up until now. This place is YOU..
Antoine de Saint once wrote, "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye".. bless you guys.......alice. Oh by the way, I always wanted to be called Alice.
-------
first off, all I can say about those RAS links is..... eeeeeeewwwwwwwwww.
well ~Q~, you certainly raised the bar for unveiling. Hmmmm.... I don't have a terribly interesting story to tell, unfortunately. Let's see... I'm 33 years old, a stay-home-mom (oh wait, we did that already)... I am passionate about music. Any kind of music. I need to be surrounded by music every moment that I'm awake. I even have an oh-so-cute tiny little treble clef tattoo on my ankle. I read constantly, sort of feel like a lost puppy if I don't have a book in my hand. My husband is a manager at a major pharmaceutical company. My son is brilliant. He is fascinated by nature, animals, science in general. My daughter is a mini-me, which is a bit frightening... LOL (and ~Q~, I'm sorry, but you'll have to inform your daughter that mine already IS the Queen.) I volunteer for Meals on Wheels and in my kids' schools. I am a cancer patient - I have Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I am absolutely fascinated by the energy of the earth, and the energy within us. I practice yoga and meditate daily, have taken Tai Chi and just completed my first course in Reiki. My purpose in life right now is to figure out the whole spirituality thing... am searching for a local teacher or guru with whom I can study and learn. that's it. that's me in a nutshell.......... ginny. ( ginnyp@nc.rr.com )
-------
Allright! Alice Springs back to us! (Sorry, Alice, that was irresistable.).....bkay
-------
RAS, it seems you have a wooly problem to unravel. At least Q didn't try to tell us that your father was a she-e-e-e-e-pherd; or that your favorite songs are "Embraceable Ewe" and "Ewe Light Up My Life"; or that you come from Montana, where men are men and the sheep are nervous. OK, that's out of my system, thanks.......bkay
-------
lol, no no - my dad was a mechanical engineer (sales), and my no one would recognize the titles of my favorite songs of the moment nor their performers, so i'll spare you that. Born & raised in New England, I've come to love the antiquity of the hills (not nearly as imposing as the mountains out your way, bkay), and the myriad ways they were sculpted by the glaciers. Also fascinated by the transience of man's presence here - that whole towns can spring up and thrive and age and wither and die and leave nothing more behind than a few fieldstone foundations and tracks that MIGHT have once been a road. That and an interest in science (I knew from the age of 6 that I wanted to be a scientist, they were so cool in the Big Bug sci-fi flicks of the Cold War!) have shaped my own world view: that we dwell on this planet at the pleasure of powerful, implacable natural forces that neither love nor hate us; that we are tiny parts of an immense Whole that constitutes the most remarkable construct ever devised, what we call "the observable universe." One can only contemplate what wonders the UNobservable universe contains! Anyhow, that's as fas as I'm going to venture into theology. Each of us seeks out the spiritual path kindest to our feet, and (IMHO) as long as we question and search and think about issues beyond us & simple animal survival, we'll all end up at the same place. Call it Enlightenment, call it God, call it Nirvana... doesn't matter. All the same. Whoa, that's a lot of words coming out after I promised to stop............RAS of Mighty Lung Capacity
And it proves to me that beyond that tangibles and identifiable differences we are all human souls that can find common ground. We have created our own world here. retreating from our daily lives to live amongst our soul families. The people we identify with on a creative, spiritual and intellectual level. What I've done comes form being bored and being aware that there are 3 month courses in EVERYTHING and losts of time before the sun sets! A Jack of all trades and Master of none I wouldn't pay _myself_ for a massage or invest my own money for that matter..LOLOL..so its quality not quantity that's important however i do enjoy my youth.
Can someone really define reality TV?...what's Sport or a documentary or news then? I suppose I don't hate reality TV itself just the use of that paticular phrase like its a new development in TV programs.
OK OK I can’t stand it anymore. After a long hiatus from steady writing and now I only write occasionally, with no name at all, I will confess. I was sent back to you all (as the real me) when a copy of this lengthy conversation was sent to me. (thanks CM) I to am guilty of using a couple of different pen names. Helen, Lilly, and a couple others that I can’t remember off hand. (~Q~ might remember them) It was fun to be sure. You can hide in a name and write a totally different way if you want. You can hide from everything if you want. Alter egos soar under a different name. I enjoyed reading all about everybody. Got a big chuckle out of RAS’s urls. It took me over an hour to read everything on this one page. I guess it’s time to disrobe as it were. I have two kids, a girl 26 and a boy 22. Two dogs, 1 cat with 4 new kittens who just moved in one day while I was gone on a trip to England. I hate green vegies, am a Trekkie to be sure. Love anything that is different from the norm. REALITY TV? What’s that? I thought everything on TV was real. OMG I must now rethink everything all over. :o} I have a new grandson and a new love in my life. Am remodeling my house due to the domino theory. You know, where you just want to paint one wall and then that leads to another and that leads to the ceiling which leads to the floor and on and on it goes. I went back to school to become an engineer at work, and most recently I found some extra time to join a Dragon Boat Racing team and that was a hoot. I changed my mind and am doing the fireworks again this year. One more show and I can get my pyrotechnics license. So that’s me in a nutshell. I see by some of your comments that you are all very busy too so I guess I can’t use that as an excuse for not being around much anymore. Can I just use the one about the writer’s block then? I will be back more I promise....m4r ( moon4rent)
