game drive paradise
tsetse fly in the ointment
aware of our flesh....david

bold impala
grazing in tall hiding grass
predators' big chance...david

ooops...bold calm impala.

distant giraffes graze
heads appear and vanish, bob
arcing ground to sky...david

baboons wait, patient
corner of eyes on crumbs, trash
stalking inert prey...david

compressed zebra herd
kaleidascopic patterns
hypnotic movement...david
-------
lost wildebeast calf
follows-adopts us as mom
wanders toward danger...david

hyenas devour
eat prey without killing first
indifferent to pain....david
