Poem Number 1750
MYTHOS...
Commentary:
1.
King Arthur like Robin Hood
like Jesus like 2PAC like
thug life like hip hop
who you are is a crucifixion an
arrow a sword a hammer & nail a
trap a nobility a kingdom
a castle America a ministry
an endless hassle no one rises
out of fear no one helps you here
forgive them they all lied
take yr. choice Jesus 2PAC
Robin Hood King Arthur
all died all heroes lied
------------------------
-------
so the lines of reality
blurred by visions
that look the same either way
exchange one for another...
do I have to choose
or can I just stand in silence
and watch
while they both crumble to dust
leaving behind the things
that only serve to remind ?
..
couldn't help myself, your poem just seemed to invite a response..
W.

2.
The promise is
a lie. All promises
ara all lies. There
can be no history
of the history of
the history of.
The lie told to keep
going in the new thing
called meaning created
a new meaning, which
must be sustained
by lying. The truth
is a lie. The denial
of truth is a lie.
Then there is the lie
that truth is a
multiple; that there are
truths is many lies
made into one lie.
...the Man

silence
and closed eyes
2PAC Shakur
whispers a little prayer
for Robin Hood, King Arthur
Jesus, 2PAC closes
his eyes and dies
opens his eyes says something
to a friend about thug life
but he can't help it
he lies, he knows he lies
the poor are used to lies
the savior waiting
in the silence of the aether
prays to god who prays to god
who prays to god who prays...
aeons of broken hearts
pray to find
god's mind
but god's mind
is closed
the Man...
-------
yes. It has all turned to dust
turning and turning
round and round
until the ground looks just like the ground.
Lies to sustain lies
until it all looks the same
until
unless
and when the ash stops falling
and you look up
you'll see your reflection
you know it's you
who gets to do the do over
and maybe
just maybe
you will avoid the same pitfalls
the same lines
the same same
that found us all here
in a twisted fairy tale
who's end smells like the beginning...
..
your most welcome. It really is very quiet in this place now.
Company is rare. I think I've found the answer to the question
"Why is a raven like a writing desk"
It's because the raven has quills to write in black ink with...
so do I win the hatter's hat or maybe I'll get a full cup of tea this time, one that doesn't leak...
-------
I'm writing a bigass King Arthur/Robin Hood poem (some of the King Arthur is in high critique solo 5), and these were good to me but just didn't fit. 2PAC is beguiling too - and - as fake as the others: seems fictional like Jesus.
the Man...
-------
To write a big epic poem, (your words bigass) is to aspire to the likes of Homer who wrote both the Iliad and Odyssey. Will this be your magnum opus? I haven't created mine yet, but someday, I'll create something, art, a poem, an oration, that will be the work to end all the works that I have done or ever will do after...
maybe that one will be the last one before I die.
W.
-------
Ok. So I went and read the pieces you written. I like what you've written here better than there. The writing there seems more like a sketch, here it seems to be a foundation, if that makes sense.
W.
-------
my Robin Hood thing is better, I'm holding it back for maybe future publishing. My King Arthur fell a little flat - keeps getting more and more militant.
tM...
-------
It's hard not to go militant with a mixture of figures that define standing against the flow of the beliefs and attitudes of the time period they are found in. Bring them into modern culture makes it even more so, considering the world that exists now.
I'd like to read your Robin Hood piece when your ready.
