nice :) a suggestion to do away with "like" and use a period, or comma or some other approach? poetries job is to show, not tell.

Were is your poem actually located? At first I thought it was in a work cubicle? But a cubbyhole is/ can be different and makes me think of war... except there's no carpet in trenches. Any way, I like the basic construction of your piece :)

removing the like works for me, removing the with doesn't because it removes the emotion from the coloring and seems disembodied to me - thanks for your participation
