Poem Number 1609
He is: an iceberg
cracked, creaking... suddenly melted
slowly advancing into the See
He is: my empty bed
dirty sheets with a stiff neck
empty pill bottle on a nightstand
cold coffee in an dirty mug
He is: invited to nirvana
before it moves on
and can pretend that the muse
will keep him warm

Commentary:

(you understand a lot of biblical references. that's fun. i've avoided them, but i can play with them with you if you like. i know a bit about the bible and its stories.)
-------
#purr#
-------
the bible uses alot of agricultural references
-------
yes, the Jews were given the Promised Land to cultivate it. In Egypt, they grew the wheat that sustained the nation through the seven years of famine after seven years of feast when Joseph had the granaries filled to over-flowing based on a god given dream of the wheat sheafs.
-------
well - i think agriculture came first...ya got be fed to philosophize
-------
true, the support has to be there for a culture to flourish.
however, originally weren't the Jews nomads - sheep and cattle herders? Later when they left Egypt under Moses direction they were fed Manna as they journied to the new world.
-------
pretty much "hated it" too 40 yrs of anything - bleck!
-------
omg! that's right, 40 years of the same thing!!! it was supposed to be sweet tasting i think and they ground it up to make a type of bread with it. pretty boring :) the things folks do on 'faith' of a promised future.
