Commentary:
The old men rest
hope to live another day.
.
Children mutter.
.
An old woman folds laundry
into a basket.
.
“I have done this
for centuries,” she sighs.
.

Nice poem.I too, fail to understand some comments of late.Sometimes we must accept and go on.Sometimes we must fight.Sometimes it's best to ignore as i choose to do.Keep writing, inspite of the interruptions,i am...:)V

I'm afraid that's my fault - t, I stirred up some antichrists who are looking to purify poetry for God's telescopicmoronic Heavens. Perhaps I shouldn't provoke them so much that you all have to pay the booby-prize too. Sorry for that. Caindaemon

(I still dig this in a real way. Reminds me of Sandburg in a way, like
"Cornhuskers" has that same deep earthiness you have here - read it.)CD
-------
thanks CD, i hadn't thought of Sandburg.
on your recommendation i've located a great site featuring "Cornhuskers" and will read it through.
on the other matter ... to hell with the antichrists, let the chariots roll! -t
.
A partial quote:
.
Carl Sandburg (1878–1967). Cornhuskers. 1918.
.
1. Prairie
.
Look at six eggs
In a mockingbird’s nest.
.
Listen to six mockingbirds
Flinging follies of O-be-joyful
Over the marshes and uplands.
.
Look at songs
Hidden in eggs.
.
-------
...:)V, i'm glad you continue to write, you're a creative guy. I enjoy your contributions.
Thanks for the encouragement.

-------
Your quite welcome. Thanks for the kind words...:)V
-------
I happened to remember:

"Do you remember I held empty hands to you

and I said all is yours

the handfulls of nothing?"

You're pulling up alongside something good as far as style, very emotive and raw - if you want to go there. Anyway, BRAVO.
