Poem Number 1703
all the animals come out at night, except for one
there are three reasons he wont show you his face
the first is that he does not know you
the second is that he does not owe you
and the last reason?
the reason for shadow?
this reason he keeps to himself
it's the remorse he ,felt for the last card he dealt
he left the Autumn winds obscure
and pain beneath it's leaves

to be afraid of me
is to be afraid of he
that what is shown
is not owned
nor is it a debt to pay
but that we would need
more than to bleed
is the being seen
to be sure that we've ever been

Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.

ghost

Commentary:
Waking up the same ever morning
before you.
Going to sleep the same ever night
before you.
Your eyes never find me anymore.
Your the ghost in my house
living in flesh and bone
a ghost non the less.
You talk to me when you want something
nothing more than that.
Your anger at women rages at me
I am your scape goat
for all the women who never swooned at your feet.
Your the ghost in my house
while I am a reminder of how you felt you settled
now you don't bother
with kind of kindness or anything of that sort.
You stay because your afraid to be alone
ghost in a house of skin
who says he loves me
then ignores that I exist
until you want something
but are unwilling to move
embracing your laziness
and anger.
Your the ghost who used to smile
when I walked in the room
years ago.

a fanciful notion
to distil emotion
and give it meaning without a name
in the qualia vein
