Poem Number 981
What's This

Commentary:
what is the territorial imperative to possess another human
How do we learn that if the heart of another delclares it so
our sense of self rests in their care and we are safe
what myth, perpetuated by the illusion that we begin life
as the possession of a god who, in his benevolence
created us for his amusement, correction,in his image
and so, like this god we seek the image of ourselves
in the eyes of another to confirm that we exist
and that it is not meaningless

Good poem - compelling. Errie!
