The animals were no longer alive
they were dead
dead as rocks
Rocks have no soul
Rocks break things
Rocks break rocks.
Rocks break.
paper wraps block, warming the soul
blocked rocks ;) - warmed by the crumbles of the page

the emotion is there; now bring the soul.
