Poem Number 2540
TRAVELOGUE: Star Date, Ano Mundi
Commentary:
Dessert
“And what would you like for dessert?” chirps the effervescent waitress.
“I’ll have a nut bar,” I murmur, slowly turning away from the fiery Pacific sunset viewed from a window seat in a quaint seashore dinner.
“Ma’am?”
I try really hard to focus on her face.
“Oh,” I giggle, “What I meant is, no dessert thanks! Dinner was fabulous!”
“Of course,” she stammers. “And that will be all tonight?”
“Yes, thank you,” I venture.
Forgive me for calling names? It’s a jest. It’s just -- I really hoped you’d come.

I have discovered: A jetted hot tub is a girl’s best friend ☺ So, no worries about lusty desires being confused with emotions and “he said” “she said” etc. and us not wanting to ever see each other again.
As I write a huge storm front races up the strait. It’s windy and I’m glad I brought beeswax candles in case the power goes out. There’s a courtesy flashlight located on the nightstand. The temperature has dropped yet a sunburn from beach combing is keeping me warm.
It’s taken two days to begin to unwind. I am so tense. Had another anxiety attack last night. I hope I can get to the bottom of why. Hope that I can. being brave
